Security has been enhanced at the Supreme Court ahead of ruling on presidential petitions
- Police on horses were pictured patrolling the area around the court
- Anticipation is high as Kenyans wait with bated breath to know if Uhuru was rightfully elected
- The court annulled Uhuru's first win in the August 8 election and ordered for a fresh election
There was heavy police presence outside the Supreme Court on the morning of Monday, November 20, hours to the ruling on presidential petitions.
Police officers riding horses were seen patrolling areas surrounding the court to ensure it was secured ahead of the highly anticipated ruling.
There were also banners outside the court calling for the declaration and swearing in of President Uhuru Kenyatta as president.
On September 1, Maraga and his team annulled Uhuru's win and called for a fresh election within 60. Uhuru won again amid controversy and boycott from his main challenger Raila Odinga of NASA.
However, Raila did not petition the win and insisted he wants a fresh election within 90 days.
Uhuru's win was petitioned by three Kenyans including former Kilome MP Harun Mwau. They want the court to annul the election on grounds that it was flawed and nominations were not conducted.
Raila had been enjoined in the petitions as a respond but the court struck out his name as he did not participate in the election.
The court will deliver its verdict on Monday, November 20, at 10 am
